4. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
Only what is needed for the task:
Shopify — store, checkout, order database
Payment providers — to take payment
Carriers and freight forwarders — name, phone, address, parcel contents
Manufacturing / warehouse partners — to build and pack cabinets and screens
Email / support tools — order and support mail
Analytics and ads tools (if enabled) — Shopify analytics, Google, Meta or similar, to measure traffic and ads
Professional advisers — accountants, insurers, lawyers when required
Authorities — if the law or a valid legal request requires it
A buyer of the business — if we merge, sell or reorganize
Anyone who processes data for us is expected to use it only for that task.
Where U.S. state law treats certain ad tools as a “sale” or “share” of personal information, you may opt out (see §9).
5. RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY
Information you submit is transmitted to Shopify and may be processed outside your country.
Shopify may also use store-interaction data, together with data from other merchants, for platform security and certain enhanced features. For that processing, Shopify is responsible and handles related requests:
https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy
6. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Orders are processed in China and may be stored on Shopify servers in other countries, including the United States. Carriers and payment providers also process data outside your country.
For transfers out of the EEA or UK we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, an adequacy decision, or the processor’s published transfer mechanism, where required.
7. COOKIES
We use cookies and similar tools to:
Run the cart and checkout
Remember language and session
Measure traffic
Measure ads, if you accept
You can block cookies in the browser. The cart and login may not work without essential cookies. If a Shopify cookie banner is on, use those extra choices.
If you visit with a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal enabled, we will treat it as an opt-out of targeted advertising for that browser where the law requires it. We do not honor other “Do Not Track” signals.
https://globalprivacycontrol.org/
8. MARKETING
We send marketing email only if you opt in, or where the law allows us to email existing customers about similar products.
Every marketing email has an Unsubscribe link. You can also write support@julycode.net.
Unsubscribing does not stop order, shipping, invoice or safety messages.
We do not share your email with unrelated brands for their marketing unless you clearly agree.
9. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live (EEA, UK, and some U.S. states), you may ask us to:
Access the data we hold
Correct inaccurate data
Delete data, where the law allows
Restrict or object to certain processing
Receive a copy of data you provided (portability)
Withdraw consent
Opt out of targeted advertising / “sale” or “sharing” as those words are defined under U.S. state law
Email support@julycode.net with the subject Privacy request. We may verify it is you. Authorized agents must prove they act for you. We aim to reply within 30 days (EEA/UK: one month, extendable as the law allows). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
We may refuse a request when the law lets us keep the data (invoices, fraud files).
For data Shopify controls, also use https://privacy.shopify.com/en.
10. RETENTION
Orders, invoices, warranty and returns: warranty period plus tax / consumer-law periods
Support emails and compatibility photos: while the case is open, then a reasonable archive
Marketing lists: until you unsubscribe
Server logs: a short security period
We then delete or anonymize the data.
11. CHILDREN
The site is for adults buying home cinema products. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16, or under the age of majority in their jurisdiction. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.
We do not have actual knowledge that we “sell” or “share” (as those words are used in U.S. state law) personal information of anyone under 16.
12. THIRD PARTY SITES
Links to projector brands, carriers or payment pages are covered by their policies. We are not responsible for those sites.
13. SECURITY
We use reasonable measures (HTTPS, access limits, processor contracts). No internet transmission is completely secure. Do not send card numbers by ordinary email. Use a private device at checkout.
14. CHANGES
We may update this policy when the shop, processors or the law changes. The “Last updated” date will change. We will post the new version here and give extra notice if the law requires it.
